Montrose threatening with Cammy Ballantyne's Cross reaching Russell McLean, with Mclean eventually heading over the bar.

Montrose take the lead with another Ballantyne Cross, with an incredible diving header by Steeves, with the left back header reaching the back of the net to stick the 'Gable Endies' 1 nil up. After back and forth counter attacks from each team for a while, Ballantyne runs down the line, into the box and finds Mclean who holds the ball up, turns and shoots, with the ball going right past post and out of play. Excellent passing play by Montrose between Webster and F. Ballantyne, ends in a Cammy - F. Ballantyne goal. Webster slotted the ball past the Dumbarton defence with F Ballantyne Cooly placing the ball past Dabrowski in the Dumbarton net. Moments later Johnstone for Dumbarton finding himself with the ball in the Montrose defence. He turns shoots and the shot is saved by Fleming After a miscued goal kick from Dabrowski , McLean picks the ball up in the middle of the park and shoots from the edge of the D and is saved by the Dumbarton Keeper. Minutes after, the first yellow card of today's game is awarded to Carswell for Dumbarton after a nasty foul on Harry Cochrane. Cochrane is eventually booked himself seconds after a foul of his own. Montrose are awarded a free kick around 30 yards out after a foul on Webster. After passing short they eventually win a corner which soon leads to another foul on the by line next to the Dumbarton box. Milne passes the ball into the box leading to nothing again. After a clash between Montrose players, Dumbarton run down the line with Frizzell shooting and Fleming making a fantastic save to keep his side 2 nil up.Montrose win a corner from the counterattack from Fleming's save, it's played in, reaching Webster who plays it in to Mclean who taps it into the bottom corner to make it 3-0 Montrose. Moments later Webster nabs the ball from a throwing and speeds down the line shooting, with his shot smacking off the post and eventually hit out of play by Carswell.

Eventually the ref blows the whistle for halftime with the score at Montrose 3 - Dumbarton

Halftime is soon over with Montrose taking Cochrane off and replacing him with Watson. After a handball from Watson Dumbarton win a free kick with Neill whipping it in and finding the head of Wardrop with Fleming calmly collecting it mid air. After an incredible run from Webster, the ball lands at the feet of Milne, with him then taking a shot which was brilliantly saved by Dabrowski. Today's 3rd booking was awarded to Montrose defender, Kerr Waddell after a dirty elbow to the face of Hamilton, which then resulted in a Dumbarton free kick which led to a montrose throw after a skied header from Wardrop. Following a Dumbarton throw, Carswell makes a fantastic overhead kick effort which was palmed away for a corner By Fleming. The corner resulted in a free kick for Dumbarton. Shortly after, Montrose proceed to make their second and third change with Callachan and Allan coming on for Webster and Dillon. From the free kick, Dumbarton win a throw just on the edge of the by line with it thrown into the box resulting in Fleming collecting the ball. Shortly after Dumbarton make their first, second and third change of the game with Jones, Wilson and Langan replacing Carswell, Johnstone and Church. With Montrose also making a change bringing on Johnston for Webster. After a while of possession based play, Dumbarton make their fourth change with McLuskey coming onto the pitch for Forbes And Montrose also making their fourth with Quinn replacing Waddell, all while Montrose win a free kick on the edge of the Dumbarton box with Ballantyne's free kick hitting off the wall and resulting in a Dumbarton counter-

attack with Montrose dealing with it well and going on one of their one with Mochrie's terrific run resulting in nothing. After another great team run from Montrose, the ball lands to Mochrie on the edge of the box resulting in his shot skying over the bar. Montrose soon hit their 4th with F. Ballantyne scoring his second of the game with a brilliant shot from the centre of the edge of the box into the bottom left of the goal leaving Dabrowski no chance of saving the shot. Very shortly after the ref blew for full time, with the game ending Montrose 4 - 0 Dumbarton.

MOTM - Cammy F. Ballantyne - Fully deserved with 2 great goals and excellent passing and runs causing the Dumbarton defence a real issue.

As for the results of today's game, Montrose move up to 2nd place, while Dumbarton move down to 6th.
